This page follows on from my About me page and is about Sbi. When I started building this website back in Feb 2007, I hoped it would help me build a new better future. Fast forward to the middle of 2009 it was earning me over $2,000 per month, working on it in my spare time I do a little bit most days.

I haven't told you this to brag about what I have achieved. Just to show you what is easily possible with some work and effort on your part. Read on to see how it all came about for me.

Like many people I have had many jobs (most I hated) just to pay the bills. This is not the case with my present job working with window treatments. I really enjoy what I do..... well most days :-)

But......(there's always a "but" isn't there) you get to thinking about where your life's going and what the future holds. You know the sort of stuff such as a better work/family balance. Then there was my retirement and can I afford to stop working when I get older. Watching the news this is big problem for a lot of people these days. I used to lie awake at night worrying about this (not anymore, read on to find out why).

The other really BIG worry for a lot of people at the moment is will they have a job next month (assuming you haven't already lost yours!)

I started thinking about how I could earn more money to suplement my earnings so I could save more for the future. I got to thinking about trying to write a book about what I do for a living, then trying to somehow sell it.

Knowing abosolutely nothing about writing and selling books (not a good place to start a new money making venture). I did some research on the internet on "how to self publish" my book (that I had not even written yet, or had a clue how to start writing it).

So what did Mr Completely-clueless (that's me) find doing his not so indepth or structured research ?

I discovered that almost no one who writes books of any kind makes a penny, most end up losing money. So I was not a happy bunny with my big idea over before it started.

So did I give up on my idea (dream), no I did some more searching on the internet and found a lot of the usual "get rich quick scams". You know the kind "send $39.99 today and I will show you how to make $5,000 a week with no prior skills or knowledge",

Oh and nearly forgot "you only have to work 1 hour a day" to make this kind of money. Yeh right of cause you will NOT.

One thing I did keep seeing come up on my internet search a few times was a website call Sitebuildit.com. The first couple of times I took a look at the site I read a little and then moved onto other websites still looking for how to sucessfully publish my non existent book.

Then a few days later still searching for that information that would show me the way, I landed back on the Sitebuildit.com site, this time I read a lot more about SBI (abreviation for Sitebuild it) and had a complete revelation. I suddenly realized the way forward was not a book but a website.

I know what your thinking, I can read your mind :-)

I don't know the first thing about building a website and even less about making money online.

So what happened to me ?

So I stumbled upon info aboutSBI on the web one day searching for other ways to earn money ( what's SBI?...hold your horses I'll get to that in just a minute). The second way is from a few businesses that have adverts placed directly on my site. Other businesses will approach you after you build your site. They will pay you for placing their ads on your site (another great passive income. The kind that little devil in me likes the best).

Then there are some links to merchant sites that sell goods related to my website theme. I make a small commission when someone makes a purchase.

In the near future

I will be putting short videos on my site in the coming months. These will show how I go about fitting different kinds of window treatments. These will only run for about 2 to 3 minutes (don't want to frighten anyone with my mug for to long).

Then I will produce longer more detailed videos with an ebook to accompany it. This will be for people who want to get involved with some of my more complicated creations. These I will make a small charge for.

How do people find your website ?

Today my website has over 40,000+ unique visitors a month and it is growing every month. I don't pay for my traffic it all comes from the search engines and other websites that link to my site. Oh and of course returning visitors.
