Big Picture

by Renee
(southeast florida)

Hi my name is Renee. I live in the southeast part of the United States. I have two huge picture windows in my living room.

They are one above each other. The top one has a large arch, but no sunburst with panes. The bottom one is perfectly square/rectangle. They are each about 110" from top of window to bottom seperated by a 3' wall section.

The windows look out over a pool- but I thought I would like some sort of sheer over the window- but not sure if that means I have to cover the top window also. I can look out through the top window on our upstairs balcony.

Hi Renee

What a great sounding house you have there. Do you mind if I come and move in.

(Only kidding don't panic :-)

I think I would just start with the lower window and see what you think. Often you need to live with something for a while to see how it grows on you.

If after a few weeks you feel you need or want the upper window doing then get them done. You could in theory have a pair of enormously long sheer curtains to hang and cover both windows at the same time. This could look really dramatic.

The only thing you would need then is an electric track to hang them from. So The question is do you just do the lower window now or go with the big curtains and cover both windows.

If it were my home I would stick with the lower window and leave the upper clear. Unless you really needed privacy from that upper window.

Best regards

Lee

P.S. If you want to see how much an electric curtain track would cost then check these out. It may sway you one way or the other and make your mind up.
