Curtain adjustment

by Bernice
(Largo, FL)

Hi,

How do I adjust the curtain rod so the curtains won't separate from the bottom up? The curtains overlap at the top properly, but as time goes by, the curtains are separating from the bottom up. The curtains are in a bedroom.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

Bernice

Hi Bernice

Very strange problem you have there, from what you say. It appears that your curtains are curving open starting at the bottom. I can only assume the hot weather over there in Florida is affecting the fabric causing the side seams to curve up.

I suspect it is a curtain problem and not a curtain rod problem. I think the answer is to put some curtain weights into the hem of your curtains.

I would probably put 2 or 3 rather than the usual 1 into the hem. Just unpick the ends of the hem and push them in. Then see how it goes after a few days.

If successful then great sew up the hem to stop them falling out.

I hope this works if not just drop me another line. No need to do another question. Just post a comment at the end of this one.

Best Regards

Lee
