What are curtain hangers?.

What are curtain hangers, curtain fitters, window treatment installers (all the same thing really). In a nutshell this is what I do for a living.

Most people are surprised that I make a good living just fitting curtains. They usually ask what else do you do. I answer

"Nothing, just fit curtains" The next question they ask is

"Who for"

Well I have built up a nice bunch of customers from curtain makers, custom curtain retailers to Interior designers. Occasionally I do jobs for private individuals.

So how does it work

Most of the above book me to fit curtains for their customers on an as needed basis (usually every week). They find it uneconomic to employ curtain hangers like me full time. They don't have enough curtains that require fitting. This means I get to work with lots of different customers doing all kinds of curtains.I learn something new every week.

Got some curtains you need hanging ?

Well call a curtain fitter........don't know one then check your yellow pages or on line. If you still don't find anyone (we're thin on the ground,don't know why ?). Then ring your local curtain retailer or maker. Ask them if they have a fitter and would they be interested in doing a job for you.

So how much will they charge

How long's a peice of string ? Sorry about that. They will charge like me by the job or by the hour with an estimate in advance. The more exact about what you want them to do the more exact the cost will be.

How about fitting your curtains yourself ?

Its not rocket science...just plan it out before you start. The first step is to measure for curtains. Sounds boring but is the most important step. Get this wrong then all the other steps that follow won't matter a monkeys.
