Need some help with curtain styles then there are some basic rules that you should stick with. At the end of the day though you should just go with what you really like and don't get too hung up with what's the fashion of the day.

Get the right designer window treatments in the right rooms

General rules If you live in a modern apartment then don't go for fancy swags with all the fancy fabric trim. I know it sounds obvious but it's amazing how things spiral out of control when you just see something you love and think I've got to have it.

Choose something more contemporary such as grommet top curtains or pinch pleat drapery. You can always compromise and have a traditional fabric made up in modern style. The same goes in reverse if you live in an old traditional home, but like I said earlier go with what you like as much as what you think is right for you with one eye on general curtain styles. if your not sure then ask a freind for their opinion.

Usually the main room in most peoples homes. So make your living room curtains a big statement. Spend more money here and get some custom made curtains if you can afford them. Designer window treatments don't have to cost an absolute fortune. Often designer curtain fabric is the most expensive part of the overall cost.

Often I get asked which kind of bedroom curtains should they go for. I ask does the light bother you then why not get some blackout curtains. Then if they say they want something a bit softer and more femanine. I suggest they look here for a

French lace curtains

French lace has been used for all kinds of things as well as curtains. Wedding dresses, table cloths and doily's just to name a few. There are so many ornate designs and patterns to choose from. They give a window a real French country feel to them. Decorative but so simple.
