I have a single-hung tilt window in the kitchen.
Vertical blinds were previously installed but I find that they are not convenient when you want to tilt the window open (they hang all crooked or gathered on one side).
Privacy is necessary as we live on the 2nd floor of a multy storey building.
Help!
Hi Francine
I would get a made to measure venetian blind. Then fit it directly to the swivel window frame so it moves with the window. Bet your thinking it will just swing out when you open your window :)
Well the secret ingredient is at the bottom of your blind or will be when you order it. You need to ask for holding clips for the bottom rail. The blind makers supply these special brackets for windows like yours. Also for when blinds are fixed to doors that are in constant use.
What this means is that you venetian blind will be fixed by the top and bottom rail to your window frame. You will not be able to pull the blind up as normal. You will however be able to tilt the horizontal slats open and closed regardless of how the window is tilted or not.
Hope this solves your problem.
Best regards
Lee
