Front door transom and sidelights window treatment?
by Teresa
(Indianapolis)
My front door faces west (HOT in the afternoon)and I have a 68" x12" transom above and 12" x 72" sidelights on each side of the front door. The sun heats up my foyer like crazy in the afternoon and I don't know what to do.
I don't think I should go total sun-blocking, since all my other window coverings are either 2" plantation blinds or pleated satin shades. I'm sort of a minimalist, and I have NO original ideas for this problems. I can't seem to find much online either.
Can you help me? Thanks so much!! Teresa from Indy.
Hi Teressa
Your right I have had a look and in the U.S. there seems to be not a lot. But fear not I have found something that should help.
These are what we call dim out blinds here in the U.K. They dim the sun coming through the shade helping to keep things a little bit cooler. also they help a lot to protect your furnishings and flooring.
So click on the link below and see if they are something that would interest you. Maybe even send a query to the seller just to make sure they are what your looking for.
Solar Shades
Best regards
Lee
