How do you hang curtains with a pencil pleat header?

How to hang curtains

Melissa

The apartment I just moved into has a rather old -looking uncorded curtain track. How do I hang curtains from the track? Most curtains I've found are either tabbed or have a rod pocket.Do I need a special kind of curtain for this? SO Confused!

Hi Melissa

The lowest priced curtains for this kind of track are ready made pencil pleat. They have a 3 inch tape across the top with 3 cords in the tape that you pull to gather them into a regimented pleat. Do this for both curtains to just over half the width of the track. Do this before you hook them on to the track. Click here for full easy to follow instructions on how to hang a pencil pleat header

P.S Don't forget to tie the cords at one end before you start to pull them . Otherwise they will pull straight out of the header tape.

P.P.S just another though before i go. Why not ask someone to help you fit a nice rod/pole over the window they don't have to cost much and will probably look a lot better. You could then put any kind of curtain up.
