How I built it ?

How do I dress two different size windows in my bedroom?

by Cindy
(Bryan, TX)

My bedroom is approximately 14X10. I have two different size windows. As you walk into the room the door is on the right and you look straight ahead at a 5 ft wide by 3 ft high. This window is not centered on the wall. There is a wider section to the left hand side of the window. I have a small vanity that has to sit center of the 5 foot wide window.

My other window is on the left wall and is a standard 3X6 and is centered on the wall. I would like to puddle the fabric but am not sure if that would work on both curtains.

Hi Cindy

I see no reason why you should not go with full length curtains on both windows. When doing window treatments on multiple windows in the same room. It is best to keep the theme running through all the windows ever if different sizes.

you will find if you puddle the curtains on both windows. It has a strange effect of making you not see the different size windows as much. This is because your too busy looking at the beautiful window treatments.

If you are going to close the curtains daily. Then just pull out the vanity unit 6 inches or so to allow for the curtains to fall behind. This is common to do and will look fine.

hope my ramblings help you make your decision.

Best regards

Lee
