How do I get Knotted swags to look just right
by Colette

I have newly installed oval arch windows. I want to dress them up elegantly. I was thinking of knotted sheer swags.
I don't have sufficient confidence in my skills to make them look just right. I want the knots to look full and the entire swag to look like it belongs in that space on the wall, that is, I want the swags to look tailor made for that space.

Hi Colette
Don't worry to much about this even I end up having several goes at getting this kind of window treatment right.
The first thing to do is to fit your swag holders. You will need one each side of your window set down to where the arch starts and a couple of inches out from each side.
Then you will need a center bracket set about 3 inches over the top of your window. This will give you 2 sloping swags with tails hanging down each side of your window.
I have done a page on scarf swags that will help you with the hanging. It does not show the knotting though. This will need a little trial and error on your part.
