How do I hang double rods?

by Sharron McGregor
(Tulsa, Oklahoma)

How do I hang double rods so that I can use a blackout curtain in my bedroom with drapes?

Hi Sharron

You would fix the rod brackets to the wall in the same way as for a single rod. The brackets simply reach out further from the wall over your window. you have 2 places to fix your rods into your brackets. One close to the window and one further out in front of the other rod.

If I understand you correctly you would hang the blackout curtains on the rod closest to the window. Then hang the dress curtains on the outer rod. Both pairs will hang from the rod rings on the curtain header tape.

You would draw both pairs independently of each other. You will probably push the blackout curtains behind your outer dress curtains during the day.

I hope this is what you meant. If not post a comment at the end of this page.
