How to support a long curtain rod and not damage molding?

Please help! This is for my daughter & new son-in-law. I need to hang a curtain over three french doors in a living room that have a transom above. It is for an apartment.
How do I support the center of the rod and not damage the wood molding between the doors and the transom? They are afraid to put screws in the molding for a center support.
Is there a ceiling support? Where do I get one? I need ideas for hanging a long curtain.
Hi Mary
If your rod is to fit under the transom windows. Then a ceiling fix center bracket would look really odd and be unstable.
If you were to fix the rod bracket to the moulding. Then leave the rod up when you leave the apartment. Anyone new in the apartment would probably be grateful for something to hang their curtains from solving the problem of the holes.
If the moulding is painted, then you could simply fill the screw holes. Then sand and repaint to repair the fixings.
Best regards
