I have a large window with a smaller window on top- what kind of curtains should I use?

Hey! So glad you are helping out. I have a strange window situation in the front room and really want to get it taken care of. I'll attach pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. I want curtains up there to add warmth of color to the room. Thanks!

Maybe you will think I'm mad (everyone in this house thinks so :-) I would take the blind off the small top window. Then replace it with a plain white one to match your walls. Then completely forget about it.

Then put a decorative rod over the lower large window and hang and dress your curtains as normal. After a while you will simply forget about the upper window. It will simply blend into the background.

If that really does not appeal to you then my other suggestion is to fit 3 swag holders. The first one a couple of inches over the top small window. Then the others at the top corners of the lower larger window.

Then hem a long length of fabric and drape it over or through the 3 swag holders. This would bring the top window into the window treatment. The swag could then hang down each side down to the floor. This would be quite a dramatic look to the room.

Hope one of those ideas might appeal to you or set you off in a new direction.

I could always just take the blind down all together instead of replacing it.... Or put something up there like a stain glass thing or maybe something like punched tin....
