I have a wide short window

How should I dress this wide, but high and short window in my baby's bedroom?
I have blinds throughout the house and in some rooms I have sheers over the top (in our bedroom, front room and the lounge room. All other rooms just have roller blinds that have been fitted to the inside of the window frame.
We need to put curtains over the top of the blind in my little boy's room as the light during the day is waking him up.
I would like to know what is the best length of curtain for this window to look attractively dressed. I would normally fit curtains to the floor for all our other windows, but just don't know what to do with this short window.
Regards,
Charlotte.
Hi Charlotte
Firstly there is no right or wrong way to go on this kind of window. My own feeling is to go for floor length curtains. The reason is when closed you don't know how big or small, high or low the window is. Also if you use blackout lined curtains then long curtains will block more of the light. Where as shorter curtains will let in some light under the hem.
I suspect that most of time when your little boy's in the room the curtains will be closed. So go with how they will look most of the time that the room is in use and don't fret about the look the rest of the time.
Best Regards
Lee
