How I built it ?

Leaded glass window

Hello,

I am delighted to find this site!

With a 1940"s brick farm house,my living room is very traditional.

My ? how do I dress a 5'wide by 6' tall windowthat includes the stained wood trim which is approx.5" wide. There is leaded glass with diamond shapes 18" down from the top.

Then down from that is just one big glass panel. I'd love to be able to see the leaded glass, but the big window pane below that is 'not so pretty, it having the aluminum storm windows.

The other window on the next side wall is very tiny in comparison. It only being 3'1"including the trim. My ceilings are 9 1/2' high.
The wall on each side of the big window is not very big, only approx. 4-5'wide on each side.
With the small window it's 6 1/2' on each side.
So I don't want to overwhelm my L.R. w/ curtian.
My total L.R. dimensions are 16'x 14'1/2.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Hello Whoever you are ? : -)

If you don't need total privacy or to completely block out the light in this room. Then I would just fit slim rods in the recess of your windows below the stained glass and hang sheer panels just to the window sills.

with this you get some privacy while still seeing the stained glass and the stained wooden surround.

If you would like more privacy or light blockage then Why not also fit roman shades. If you fit the blind 5 or 6 inches over your window, then when pulled up they will clear most of the window. Allowing you to see again the stained glass and the wooden trim.
