Looking for unusual wave pattern verticals

by Sandy
(Southern California)

Several years ago I saw in a decorator magazine some spectacular verticals (Levelor, I think) that I've never found.

The vane EDGES were wavy, rather than straight (not S-curve vanes), resulting in a very sculptural-looking, irregular light pattern when the blinds were partially closed. When closed you saw the wavy vertical edges, rather than the standard straight edge vanes, which also looked cool.

Of course, when completely open they looked like most verticals.

I haven't been able to find anything like that online. I've looked at all the major lines.

I need verticals for a small home study/TV room (approx 12x12; decorated with Guatemalan art & fabrics, red sofa on one wall, glass-front bookshelves/TV opposite, and a desk inserted into the closet space -- doors removed), with a standard size sliding glass door. The view is lovely -- a wilderness park view. But as it is a public park I need privacy for night-time, and can't use fabric window treatments because of household allergies. This precludes soft verticals. As this door opens to the patio and the outdoors (trees, dust, insects) I also need something that can withstand traffic.

Thanks for any help you can suggest.

Hi sandy

After much searching I have found something that may be what your looking for. Even if they are not exactly what you had in mind you may still like them.

They are super cool looking, I have never seen anything like them my self before. Get in touch with them and see if they will do what you want.

I have put the like to there website just below.

Wavy vertical blinds (opens in new window).

Best regards

Lee

Wavy Verticals
by: Sandy

I contacted the dealer and learned the verticals are exclusive to them and, no surprise, are pretty $$. For a standard 75"x82" slider, it would be about $400.

Quite high compared to medium-priced verticals, but I'll probably never do it again, so.....

Thanks again -- I've searched off and on for years. You're GOOD! Sandy

Hi Lee: Just an FYI -- I found another source for wave-pattern vertials. Sun Fabrics also carries some -- three different patterns. Don't know yet how they compare by $$

You'll probably never get another request for something like this, but if you do you'll be ready with at least two references.

Thanks again, Sandy

Hi Sandy

I will keep for the record, thanks Lee
