Mini Blind Help...

by Glenda
(Canada)

I am replacing a 5 foot patio door. Next to it, there is a large 4 ft x 4 ft window we are also replacing (fixed over slider or casement possibly).

Our home is small (about 1500 sq. ft.) so we don't have a lot of space so were considering patio doors with mini-blinds in between the panes. It will save space and they will stay clean (we have cats which is another issue - so no curtains/no honeycomb, etc.). The rest of our home is mini-blinds as well.

We would love shutters but would need to do an outside mount (which would take up more space and money we don't really have right now). Any ideas on what we could do with the 4x4 window if we do go with mini-blinds inside the patio door?

Hi Glenda

I'm not sure why you can't fit a mini blind to the 4ft X 4ft window. If the window is set into a recess you could top fix the blind just inside the recess in front of the window.

If your window is not set into a recess then you could attach it to the window frame at the top of the window.

I may have not really understood exactly why you feel a mini blind would not work on this window. So if that's the case then please just ask me again by clicking on "make a comment" below. I will be more than happy to try and help.

Best regards
