Roman shades too short

by Carla
(water valley, ms)

Living on a very tight budget....I bought roman shades at a discount...shades are about an inch too short...please recommend something to either go behind the shades which will cover the last inch or something to add to the bottom of the shades to extend the length. Not very handy with a sewing machine.

Hi carla

All is not lost you just need to find a little fabric that would make a nice contrast border.

Then fold it in half and press flat. tuck in the ends so the width is the same as your shades. Then fold over a little bit at the top of your new to be border on the front and the back.

Then finally use fusible hemming tape to fix on your new bottom border. This tape is the stuff you hem trousers and skirts with.

If you want to see some then take a look here at Fusible hemming tape

Best regards
