Want room darkening curtains for those sunny mornings ?

room darkening curtains that block out the light completely

Donna

I have a door in my bedroom that I need to cover so that no light comes in. It can be covered all the time. I was thinking of putting a window panel on it with 1 1/4 valance rod on top and bottom so that I can wrap the curtain so the sides are covered. (sun peaks through in the morning. Do you think that would look bad? I've not seen that anywhere but am looking for a solution.

Hi Donna

The only thing I can think of for total light block is to make a panel lined in blackout lining. Also couple of inches larger than the window all sides. Then to use vecro tape on all sides (hook and loop tape). This may not be the most attractive way but it allows you to use your chosen fabric and get complete light block. You suggestion of using rods top and bottom would work to a certain degree. Light would still get in down the sides no matter what you do.
