Rope trim

by Tanya
(E. Rochester, NY)

I know how to sew trim onto a curtain, but how do you finish the ends when you are using rope trim? It is too thick to fold the ends around to the back or to fold it up between the front and the lining. What do you do?

Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Tanya

When I have come across this problem with a chunky rope trim. I glue the ends to seal them. You can use most glues to do the job.

You need to dab the glue into the cut ends and hold them together for a short while. I usually use hot melt glue as it dries almost instantly.

Don't worry about about seeing the ends as they will be facing up and down so will not be seen hopefully.

Best regards

Lee
