Round Room Dilemma

by Lisa
(Bullard, Texas, USA)

I have a round dining room with five windows that go all the way around. The ceiling is extremely high with a chandelier coming down out of the center. What is the best way to hang curtains in this room and what would look the best? This is the west side of the house which receives the most sun. The room is absolutely beautiful but I am at a loss at how to dress the windows.

Hi Lisa

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Right you do not need to worry about the shape of the room.

You need to think of the style, so with your chandelier you have a fairly high ceiling. Also I suspect tall windows.

Without seeing your room and decor style I would probably go for chunky decorative rods. Then hang slightly over long curtains with a buckram header. Choose either triple pleat or goblet style to the curtain header.

Then finally drape your curtains back into tassel tie backs.

Hope this idea sounds ok.

Best regards

Lee
