saving money by using header with wider panels

I want to try the new kind of wide panels Ikea and others sell but use existing header. Do you know if I can remove the right number of clips and use new panels.

Which I'm hoping would still - maybe not open at all but close just like regular vertical blinds do?

If these are the flat fabric panels I'm thinking of that hang from the "KVARTAL suspension system".

Then unfortunately you can't hang them from your existing curtain rod. The Ikea curtain track has three grooves for gliders. This is so you can hang up to six panels (3 each side) on the one track.

If you have a standard curtain rod. Then you can only hang one panel on each side.

To make this system work not only would you need the right panel track. you would also need a top and bottom bar for each panel. I believe these come with the "KVARTAL suspension system" from Ikea.
