Small windows- 1 curtain or 2
by Peter

My girlfriend and I are moving into a new build apartment. We have a window in our living room that is quite high but also quite narrow. Should we put one curtain and tie back or put two curtains up that would be very very narrow?
I feel that it would look more contemporary to have just one curtain with a thick rail but my girlfriend thinks that we are expected to put up two curtains regardless of the width of the window.
Hi Peter
I tend to fit a single curtain on narrow windows. It can look a little overpowering with a pair of curtains on some small windows.
If you go with a single curtain then it really need to hang to the side nearest to the corner of the room. As in the photo above.
Another option would be to forget the curtain all together and fit a roman blind. Just have it made in the same fabric as any other curtains in the same room.
Best regards
Lee
