Swing arm curtain rods are the answer to your dormer window.

Swing arm rods are one way to hang curtains in a dormer window. They provide a solution when there is no room to draw the curtains off the window.

So what are these rods

Well they are simply rods with a hinge at one end. You fit them in pairs on most wider windows.Each arm is a little longer than half the window width. This allows when closed for your curtains to overlap a small amount at the center of the window.Then you create a curtain with a slot pocket on the top. Then push the rod through the pocket gathering it as you go.

Over doors

You can fit a single swing arm rod over a doorway to keep out the draft.

How do they work

Very simply as the name suggests they swing from covering the window. All the way to the walls either side of the window in the dormer window.

Fitting your rods

Usually there is little room if any over these kind of windows.So fit the hinge end of your rods as high as possible and as wide as possible. (i.e. right into top corners over window).
