triple pleat tape and hooks

by Debra Fewster
(plymouth uk.)

How do you use Tridis triple pleat tape and how do you apply the special hooks? I've recently made a pair of interlined curtains for French windows and would like to get the heading right after spending so much time on them. Many thanks.

Hi Debra

The specialty triple pleat tape is sewn on like any other tape. Usually this kind of tape has 2 sew lines to follow.

You then need to pull up the 2 cords that run through the tape remembering to tie them of first at the other end. Doing this causes the pleats to form.

The special hooks have 2 prongs as a rule you need to push these into the pockets on the back of the tape. One in each outside pleat these hold the pleats together for when you start to use your curtains.

I usually lay the tape out across the curtain before cutting to size. This is so I can check where the pleats are going to be. You need to even it out so you have an even amount both sides.
Once you have sorted that out add a couple of inches both ends for tucking under when you sew down.

I hope that helps to clear a couple of things up.

Best Regards

Lee
