Varying sill heights

Hi. This is Laura. I have two windows in my living room on adjoining walls. One window is larger than the other and to make it even more interesting the sill heights are very different.
They are the same distance from the ceiling though. The window on the main wall is wider and larger with approximately 1 foot to the corner of the room.
Then, approx. 2 feet from the same corner is the smaller window with the higher sill. I'm looking for a way to hang curtains that help to camouflage the difference in the window sizes. Can you help?
Hi Laura
The simple answer is to fit floor length curtains to both windows. This will focus the eye more on the window dressings rather then the windows themselves.
Also on the narrower window fit the curtain rod wider on this window. So for example on if the smaller windows was say 48 inches wide. Then make the curtain rod over this window 64 inches long. So it passes each side of your window by 8 inches. Then when you hang your curtains don't push them open to far so you see the wall. Leave them just over the window a little.
Then on the wider window if it is say 70 inches wide then make your curtain rod 78 inches wide. So it passes each side of your window by 4 inches. You would normally go wider than this but going less will help the balance with the narrower window.
Unfortunately you can't do much about the position of your windows in relation to the corner of your room.
This will not make them look totally even but will even out the differences somewhat.
Best regards
Lee
