Vertical Striped Fabric

I am about to make one pair of curtains and an upholstered pelmet from vertical striped pattern fabric but I am not sure which way the stripes should run on the pelmet and tiebacks - vertically or diagonally? Many thanks

Good question this one, some people believe that all the stripes should run in the same direction.

I don't believe this it looks odd in a way that's hard to describe.

My recommendation is to run the stripes on the pelmet and the tie backs horizontally. On the pelmet especially it looks so much better. If you run the stripes vertically they look short and stubby. To many colour changes across the width.

Take a look at a pelmet I fitted over some panel blinds and see if you agree.
