What drapery hardware can I use for a window very close to the room corner?

by Barbara

I have a tall bedroom window 62 inches wide. Window is in the corner of the room...only 2 inches from the corner (no window on opposite wall).

With only 2 inches left from the corner a rod with a finial is out of the question? I do want drapery panels (not blinds or verticals). What hardware solution could I use and where to purchase.

Thanks.

Barbara in South Carolina.

Hi Barbara

You could still fit a decorative curtain rod just loose the finial off one end. Then butt up against the wall. Fit the curtain rod bracket about an inch away from the corner.

This will allow you to hang one curtain ring on the rod right in the corner to act as a stop for your curtain.

Another option is to fit a traverse curtain rod over the window. When you have your curtains hanging you will only see the rod between the curtains when open. Then not at all when closed.

Butt one end up to about an inch from the corner. Then you will be able to tuck the curtain around the end of the traverse rod. It will give a neat look that way.

If this idea appeals to you then take a look a some traverse curtain rods here on Ebay.
