what treatment for three double windows
(Peggy)
I have a sort of bay windows in an office. There are three full size windows with a short window above. I can not decide if I should use a lot of fabric and cover all or just a top treatment and if so what kind. Should I treat these as one window or three separate? Please help, thank you very much.
Hi Peggy
It's hard to be exact without seeing but for what it's worth. I would probably treat it as one window. When it comes to bay windows I think they look better as one window treatment if dressing with a scarf swag or curtains.
The only time you have no choice is if fitting shades or blinds. Then you have to cover each one separately.
As to whether you should cover the whole bay or just fit a top treatment. That all depends on whether you need to block sunlight or if you need privacy at any time. Maybe in the evening/night to stop anyone looking in.
If not then why not fit three simple curtain rods in the bay. just butt them together in the corners. Then hang one long scarf swag that hangs down to the floor each side. This is a very simple way to dress up a window without using huge amounts of fabric.
Take a look at this page on how to make scarf swags
