Hi,I made some curtains for my sister, for her living and dining room. The top will be finish with pleats from the cord tape.
I'm using a decorative curtain rod with decorative round hooks. Would you be able to tell me where should i put the rod from the window frame.I will have the rod, the round hooks, and the curtains hanging from those round hooks.
If you have a chance can you please e-mail me the information or other ideals that could help me.
Thank You
Denis
Hi Denis
No problem giving you the answer it is very simple.
As a rough rule of thumb you need to fix your curtain rod about 6 inches over your window. The rod should also come past the window each side about 6 inches.
Don't fret if you don't have enough room on all sides. It's only a general rule.
I find people who can make curtains seem to start with that then worry about fitting them after. Unfortunately this often leads to problems with sizes. Either not wide enough or too short or long.
It is always worth fitting your curtain hardware first. Then measuring how big the curtains need to be. I Have a page on this subject if it interests you for any future projects.
How to measure for curtains.
You may want to have a quick look at this page as well.

Good luck with hanging the new curtains.
