Swags to deep
by: Karen

Hi Kathy

Had exactly the same problem myself. Thought about moving rail up but seemed like a lot of work.

But my husband was doing nothing important Saturday.
Except watching the boring football. So he volunteered (no coercion was involved...right!) to move the swag board up another 5 inches.

It looks so much better now, worth all the effort it took him. :-)

Valance rail
by: Lee

I suspect your valance rail is set only 15 to 20 cm over your window. This is very typical for most window top treatments. It just is not right for swags unfortunately.

When hanging swags I usually put the valance rail around 30cm over the window. There is no exact place to fit. It's all about holding your swag over the window until it's in the right position. Then marking the spot with a pencil.

I know it means more work moving your valance rail, but you don't really have any choice with this kind of top treatment. I think moving the rail is a lot more cost effective than getting a new valance.

Best wishes and I think they will look great when you're finished.
